This handcrafted Byers’ Choice Belsnickle Caroler is festive and perfect for the Christmas holiday season. Part of the Holiday Traditions Collection, he is dressed in a red fur-lined coat and carries a small Christmas tree and a bundle of sticks—a reminder of his legendary dual role as both gift-giver and disciplinarian. Belsnickle hails from German folklore and was brought to America by Pennsylvania Dutch settlers. Unlike the jolly Santa, Belsnickle was known to visit children alone—delivering small gifts to the well-behaved and switches to those in need of improvement. His rugged charm and moral message made him a beloved but formidable part of 19th-century Christmas lore.
