It’s Christmas Eve at Frederiksborg Castle, and on the snow-covered cobblestones, the glow of the streetlamps captures the twinkling eyes of the two castle cats. The Royal Copenhagen Annual Christmas Plate has beenmade by hand and issued annually since 1908. Once again this year, the annual Christmas plate is accompanied by a figurine.

Proposed as The Royal Danish Porcelain Factory trademark in 1775 by Queen dowager Juliane Marie, every piece of Royal Copenhagen porcelain is instantly recognised by the three blue waves on its underside symbolising the Sound, the Great Belt and the Little Belt - the three main waterways of Denmark.
