Designer Oiva Toikka’s iconic collection of glass birds took flight in 1972 with a new bird joining the flock yearly. Nature and Toikka’s passion for blown glass art gives every bird unique details that make it a truly one of a kind art object. Handcrafted and mouthblown at the Iittala Glass Factory in Finland, the Birds by Toikka collection embodies a rich fusion of glassmaking traditions. Iittala’s relaunch of the original Flycatcher from the 1970’s features a nest of small, colorful birds that are each a unique miracle of glass. The simple body in elegant rain and beak in red glass reflects light beautifully. A lovely home decoration that makes a precious gift.
