For 2022, artist Sven Vestergaard has created a design inspired by the wondrous world of children for the annual Children's Day Plate. At his desk, the little boy sits with his homework and daydreams about going outside to play ball with the other children. The Bing & Grøndahl Children’s Day Plate has been issued every year since 1985. Once again this year, artist Sven Vestergaard has created a design inspired by the wondrous world of children.
The Three Waves
Proposed as The Royal Danish Porcelain Factory trademark in 1775 by Queen dowager Juliane Marie, every piece of Royal Copenhagen porcelain is instantly recognised by the three blue waves on its underside symbolising the Sound, the Great Belt and the Little Belt - the three main waterways of Denmark.
